David Zwier grew up in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and graduated from Goshen College with an Interdisciplinary Studies Degree in Business and Global Economics.  David worked as a student leaders with the Ecological Stewardship Committee.  He also served as a translator, event photographer and restaurant manager.  David has worked and studied abroad in Egypt, Spain and Colombia.  David worked with Oakland Planning and Development Corporation.

What do you love about Pittsburgh?
The distinct character of every neighborhood.

What is the best part about the PULSE experience?
The community it builds (and the personalized care that PULSE takes in creating placements).

What does your ideal Saturday morning look like?
Endless potential, as long as it starts with a delicious meal (scrambled eggs in butter with garlic, onions, Sri Racha and some hearty toast with raspberry jam).

What is the best thing about your nonprofit placement?
The placement provides an optimal environment for learning the ropes of community development and nonprofit management.  Plus, my co-workers are wonderful!

What are some hobbies that you would like to pursue?
Gardening, homebrewing, backpacking and ultimate.

What is a favorite cheap or free activity you’ve found in Pittsburgh?
Final Fridays concerts in Schenley Park, RAD days.
