MARIE MENCHER (Takoma Park, MD / Wesleyan University ’12)

Marie Mencher is a recent graduate of Wesleyan University. She grew up in Takoma Park, MD before studying Latin American Studies at Wesleyan. Marie worked with the Global Women’s Project through the Center of Concern and with the Folklife Festival at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Marie spent a semester abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina studying Spanish. Marie worked with the Western PA Conservancy.
Marie is Running with PULSE in the Pittsburgh Marathon.

What do you love about Pittsburgh?
As someone once told me, “Pittsburgh is a city that doesn’t give up its secrets easily”.

What does your ideal Saturday morning look like?
Sleeping in, making tea, reading the paper on the porch on a warm day.
What is the best thing about your nonprofit placement?
Free dance classes and theater tickets.
What are some hobbies that you would like to pursue?
Frisbee, music, woodworking.
