I’ve learned my place in the community and how to utilize my strengths and apply those to my house, my community, and the other cohort.
PULSE has made it easy for me to adjust to a new city through the intentional community that it fosters
I work with a really awesome staff! They are great, talented, creative people who I know have my back. I also enjoy the opportunity to work with Northside kids and feel like I make an impact on their lives.
The best part of the PULSE experience is being able to transition into the professional world with other young adults going through the same experience.
It’s been amazing to have this new experience where I am going into new neighborhoods and they still feel like home. It’s a feeling of “you want to be here”. People walking down the street are nice to you, and it feels like a community wherever you go. I feel like myself here.
In living on the Northside and through self-exploration exercises, I have learned more about my weaknesses and how to address them
The most valuable part of PULSE has been the self-reflection and exploration in PULSE seminars. There is a helpful emphasis on how you need to know yourself before you can be an effective leader and community member.
I also just really love the environment of Habitat for Humanity –everyone is really friendly and welcoming and open to new ideas. I’m having a fantastic time.
