Zeba Ahmed: What do you enjoy most about your nonprofit partnership?
Kati Hupp: I really enjoy the fact that I have the opportunity to do so many things. During the weekday, I have been structuring WYEP’s teen’s programs and reaching out to other organizations for partnerships. I have learned graphic design, created a blog, and learned audio production, which I now teach to teens during our Saturday sessions.
Zeba: What is the best part of the PULSE experience?
Kati: I really love the intentional community aspect of PULSE. Having never been exposed to intentional community before, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed living with other people.
Zeba: What have you enjoyed the most about living in community?
Kati: My house community gets along really well. I really enjoy having family dinners together and getting to know one another. We have made a significant effort to spend time together.
Zeba: What surprised you most about Pittsburgh?
Kati: Comparable to other cities, I was surprised by how spread out Pittsburgh is, with the unique neighborhoods. The small population of Pittsburgh really surprised me, but I’ve come to really like it.
Zeba: What is the most interesting/fun adventure you’ve had in Pittsburgh?
Kati: My house and I decided to explore Pittsburgh and the surrounding area one night. We explored the Strip District, went to an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, and had a great time at a drive-in movie theater near Pittsburgh.
