A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Elsa Carey majored in Biological Sciences with a minor in Chemistry. During her time in school, Elsa interned with the Pennsylvania Harm Reduction Coalition, worked as a research assistant at the Pitt School of Public Health studying aging and fatigue, and published articles for the Pitt Pulse creative science magazine. She is passionate about providing equal healthcare access to underserved populations, gender equality, and wider mental health and substance abuse treatments. Her hobbies include reading, playing the piano, and cooking. Elsa was a member of our East End cohort and served with Greater Valley Community Services, Inc. as PULSE Fellow.
