Esu “Su” Obu received her B.A. in Food Science and Master of Science in Nutrition and Rural Development. During her time in her hometown of Baltimore, Su served the community by working with the University of Maryland Extension’s Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) program, whose mission is to ensure all Maryland residents are healthy and economically successful at every stage of life through education, research, and outreach programs. With a passion for food security, sustainable food systems, and social equity, she is committed to serving vulnerable communities and making their voices a priority and not an afterthought in program and policy planning. Su enjoys writing, cooking, reading, engaging with the global and local community, and crafting and other arts. Su is a member of our East End Cohort and is serving at Vibrant Pittsburgh as the Talent Engagement and Community Relation Coordinator.
